Crewel workshops

During our needlework tours and embroidery retreats you will study embroidery collections up close and personal in their original historic setting, be it a castle, or private country manor house. We meet the leading experts to discuss the latest research in the field of historic textiles. See our current tours! Her crewel work designs are based on the historic needlework she finds in the attics of British castles and country houses that she has spent her career exploring.

Embroidery or crewel needles have a long eye for easier threading, a slender shaft and a sharp point to the needle so that the stitches can be worked close together and there is more control for the placement of the stitches.
