The Uniform CPA Examination (Exam) protects the public interest by helping to ensure that only qualified individuals become licensed as U. Certified Public Accountants ( CPAs ). All candidates are strongly encouraged to review the Uniform CPA Examination sample tests and tutorial, both of which are designed to familiarize candidates with the exam’s format and functionality, as well as provide them with instructions needed before reporting to the Prometric testing center. On the date of the examination, candidates are required to arrive at the Prometric testing center at least minutes before their scheduled appointment time for the pre-testing process, which includes signing in, having a photograph taken, having fingerprints taken, reviewing the security and test center policies, and being seated at the assigned workstation. Examinees must present two current, acceptable forms of identification when they arrive, one of which must contain a recent photograph.

Each jurisdiction has specific requirements regarding education, experience and residency. You may take any section in any order, and you do not have to pass one section prior to applying for another. This varies for each jurisdiction. Your State Accountancy Board determines if credit is granted and the length of time credit is valid. Most jurisdictions allow a maximum of months to pass all remaining sections in order to retain credit on the passed section(s). If you cancel or reschedule between five and days before your appointment, you must pay a fee directly to Prometric. If you reschedule within five days of your appointment, you will be required to pay the full Prometric testing fee for the section you are rescheduling. The first release is typically in the middle of the second month of the testing window. All scores are released by the AICPA by the first week of the next window. Schedule and Sit for the CPA Exam After receiving a Notice to Schedule (NTS), set up a testing appointment as soon as possible. You will need this in order to schedule any test at Prometric. The earlier you apply, the more likely you will get your preferred location, date, and time. Each NTS is valid for six months from the date issued.
You will have only days from the date your application is approved to pay NASBA the examination fees for the section for which you are approve schedule with Prometric, and take the section of the exam. Initial candidates should receive the NTS notification within days of the approval of your application and re-Exam candidates should receive the NTS notification within days of the approval of your application. It is the responsibility of the exam candidate to schedule any unpassed sections of the exam within months of passing one or more sections.
