Austudy independent

If you’re or older, we’ll treat you as permanently independent. Permanent independent means you’ll always be independent. Reviewable independent means if your circumstances change, you might be dependent again. You may be independent if you can’t live at home due to extreme circumstances.


This includes family breakdown, violence, or serious risk to your safety and wellbeing. A social worker will assess this if you’re younger than 18. Your maximum payment rate each fortnight includes Austudy and the Coronavirus Supplement. Complete the following steps to claim Austudy. Before you start, check if you can get it.


At present students are paid AUSTUDY only if their annual entitlement to a living allowance is $or greater. The amendment will change the minimum payment to $250. Austudy allowance only being available to students over years of age.

Austudy - a payment for full-time students and Australian apprentices aged years and older. ABSTUDY - a living allowance payment plus a range of extra benefits for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and apprentices.


The student qualifies as independent through being an orphan if both natural or adoptive parents are dead. The student can qualify as independent even though he or she is dependent, or was last dependent, on someone other than his or her natural or adoptive parents. YHA set at a rate bringing combined payment up to level of AUSTUDY payable to independent students aged and years.


YHA also paid as a supplement to homeless AUSTUDY recipients of same age. Regional UB review teams established to conduct risk-based entitlement reviews and verify efforts by beneficiaries to find work. School Fees Allowance Scheme does not exist!


He is not studying full-time. Re-claim or Transfer for Austudy or Youth Allowance - Australia. Austudy is a completely seperate payment which you will need to lodge a new claim for.


As far as your current claim, keep on it. Call every couple days to check on the progress and see if they need anything else.
